From the wild west coast of New Zealand's South Island, Ross is a master carver of simply amazing talent. Ross's designs, often in the more translucent types of Pounamu feature fine detail and finishing with spectacular twists and hook forms.This carved fish hook jade carving or pendant represents prosperity,abundance, fertility and strength. Fish Hooks are also seen as good luck charms, particularly for those traveling over water. Hei-Matau are symbols of power and authority which are held in great reverence by the Maori people.
