"Sailor Suit"

1940s pin-up cropped rayon sailor top with shawl collar trimmed with white soutache.

High-waisted full-legged rayon slacks with pocket and large white buttons at sides.

The Sailor Top was adapted from a WWII USO pin-up outfit from 1945. The middrift sailor top is stitched in royal blue, rayon gabardine. The front of the bodice has three darts to shape the bustline. The sleeves have three darts at the top to create a straight line from the shoulder. The bottom of the blouse is bound and there is a three button closure at the center front. The shawl collar is trimmed with white soutache as are the sleeves.

The Sailor Top is paired with these darling, high-waisted, full-legged slacks. The slacks are stitched in royal blue, rayon gabardine. They have a pocket on the right side and four darts in the front. The left side unbuttons to aid in getting dressed and undressed. You will find the large white buttons at the right side to be decorative. The 1 1/2" waistband is framed with double rows of white soutache. The slacks from this period have long rises and this pair has 2 1/2" cuffs.

The Sailor Top will also pair nicely with the Sailor Shorts.
